My church conducts meetings for the sole purpose of discussing social media strategy. They’re called Social Media Meetings. We also have a person who is in charge of our “web presence”. She does a great job.
I think it’s awesome that my church employs a social media strategy, but it’s also kinda surreal. I’ve been involved in the Church for a long time, and I never thought I’d be a part of one that had a very clear and very intentional plan for everything including our online image. So, as beneficial as a Social Media Meeting is to our church, it is still – for me – an event that is rife with potential comedy.
Does your church have a social media policy?

My church has an awesome social media meetings. This week’s comic is fantastic! Great job Wes!
Thanks, David! And “kudos” to your church for having social media meetings! You gotta have structure for that stuff. :)
Haha! This is awesome. I’m sure our church has a social media policy, but I’m not on that team so can’t be sure what it is.
I hope it doesn’t include posting pregnancy pics on Facebook.
Great way to end a Labor Day, funny stuff Wes! Nice to meet Brian and Andrea this week.
Thanks, Gabe!
Luckily I’m the only one that has access to my church’s social media accounts. I post pictures of my naked belly and no one can stop me!
More power to you, brother.
I really enjoyed the one where you show us your perfectly pierced belly button. And the braided belly hairs. You got talent!!!
No words.
What is Social Media? #prattvillealabamaisbehindthetimes
You’re better off not knowing.
I knew you liked my Obama impressions.
Well-done! Very funny!
Thanks, man!
Yeah, we have someone in charge. Feel like my suggestions for less potty-training updates are falling on deaf ears.
Our social media policies grew out of need and good and bad experiences. We seem to have a good handle on it now, but it is still very organic. When we hired our web guy, we discovered just how much of his job would end up being just social media stuff. He is a busy guy. Some folks don’t care for some of the policies and just want to do thier thing, but boy can it turn bad if someone doesn’t stay on top of it. Clear policies written out just have to be done. When we investigated we found that there were many pages on Facebook and such representing the church and we did not know they existed. We “own” them now. ;)
Yeah, you gotta be on top of that stuff. Especially at a church like yours!
